Cheer Nationals is coming soon and the CTHS Cheerleaders will be there.

On Nov. 14 the team competed in a 3-minute routine for their first competition of the year. Once they were done preforming, they got the information that they were second in scoring and with that placement had earned a spot at Nationals.

The team practices from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. every day Monday through Friday, and when free on the weekends they would get together to have team bondings to build chemistry with one another.

“Being able to have the opportunity to cheer with these wonderful girls is pretty exciting,” sophomore Kristy Dominguez said. “Yes, we do have our days where some seem harder than others, but we manage to work through it.”

This is Kirsty’s first year on varsity and so far she is loving it.

“For it being my first year on varsity cheer I have to say it has been a huge step up from going to freshman cheer team to now varsity,” sophomore Adriana Garcia said. “But I’ve loved every minute of it, even on the days where it gets tough because on those days it just pushes all of us to want to be better by practicing the routine until it is done right.”

The first round of competition was to see which teams make it and which teams get to go home and try again next year.

“When Coach Raczy told us the news we were all filled with excitement,” sophomore Kaitlyn Kuhn said. “We couldn’t believe it, all the hard work that was put into our practices have finally paid off and now look at us making it nationals.”

Nationals will be held in February of 2022 at Disney World.
