History

Formerly the Cinco Peso Press, the newspaper became the Ranger Record in the 2022-2023 school year.

The original name comes from the process through which Texas Rangers’ badges were created. To make a badge, a Mexican coin (the Cinco Peso) was flattened, until it was a flat circle with a star in the middle. This simple logo is reminiscent of the Chisholm Trail High School logo, and is cohesive with the school’s mascot, the Ranger.
