Varsity winter guard competed at NTCA Scholastic A Championship on April 11 at Thomas Coliseum where they placed first out of 11 and won championships.

Last year winter guard got bumped up from regional A to scholastic A but did not come home victorious. Jayvee Winter Guard took first in the Guard Regional A Round at their championships March 21.

Before competition the winter guard would practice for three hours twice a week. This went on for four months.

“We had to have more patience and confidence,” senior Keren Hamuli said. “we had to learn how to let go and enjoy the moment.”

Hamuli said the team also had to learn to perform in sync.

Junior Josseline Lopez said she is happy they won before the seniors graduate.

“I love it because we worked really hard all season and the past three years,” Lopez said.
