Pink Out repeat
Breast Cancer Awareness activities span more than one day
October 28, 2014
Rangers cheered and wore pink at the official Pink Out pep rally Oct. 24.
This scene is reminiscent of the previous pep rally Oct. 10 when Rangers also dressed in pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In the last two years, the Pink Out pep rally corresponded with the Lady Ranger Volleyball Dig Pink game, this year postponed from Oct. 10 to Oct. 24.
“It snuck up on us and we weren’t quite ready with all the stuff we do,” Coach Jeana Schweikhard said.
All month the cheerleaders have worn pink accessories and students have been encouraged to show their spirit on Fridays. With so much student response at the first pep rally, sponsor Carla Hardy said the Ranch Hands decided to orchestrate a school-wide Pink Out for the following home football game.
Hardy believes that the intention is still the same with the multiple Pink Out games. The next Pink Out activity is tonight with Lady Ranger Volleyball’s Dig Pink game.
“For every kill that they get, the Ranch Hands will be collecting money from the stands,” Hardy said. “We are still working together to make both games successful and hopefully make a bigger impact.”
