Q&A With Melissa Stearman

Melissa Stearman: Band Booster President

Cameron Beauchamp, Reporter

1.What are your best memories? Worst memories?

Spending time with my friends and family. There’s nothing better than a house full of laughter.

2. Who is your favorite relative and why?

My sister, she loves me no matter what. We moved a lot when we where little and she was always my best friend. She’s fun to be around.

3. What are you proudest of in your life? Why?

My degree. It took me six years to graduate. I worked full time and went to college. It wasn’t easy, but I kept going because I wanted to be a teacher.

4. What is the hardest thing you have ever had to do?

Learning to let people help me when I broke my leg. It’s really hard for me to ask people for help. My mom took Gavin to school. My father in law picked him up every day for 12 weeks. I learned how to do lots of things from a wheelchair.  12 weeks is a long time to be on crutches.

5. Who has had the biggest influence in your life? Why?

Loyd, he always believes in me. He tells me I can do anything. The best part is he helps me even when he doesn’t want to, especially, with band stuff.

6. What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

I’ve learned we are not meant to go though this world alone. God places people in our lives to help us. Ask for help. Help others when they ask. Life is much easier when you swallow your pride.
