John Green has done it again!
A review of his new book “Turtles all the way down”
December 15, 2017
A brief synopsis:
Spoiler alert, it’s about a lizard, well a tuatara to be exact. Aza Holmes struggles with OCD and is trying to steer herself through high school when suddenly millionaire Russell Pickett, father of long lost friend Davis Pickett, goes missing. Aza’s sassy best friend and partner in crime Daisy convinces her to investigate Russell Pickett’s disappearance for the $100,000 reward at stake. While all of this is happening, Aza Holmes is just trying to be a good friend, daughter, and detective, while dealing with the “spiral” of her never-ending thoughts.
In my opinion:
With New York Best Times selling author John Green being the author of this book, I could have already told you it was going to be great. This book has completely exceeded my expectations by a mile. It is beautifully crafted work of fiction that touches upon the serious topic of a mental illness that John Green himself struggles with on a day to day basis, but it also has comedic undertones spread throughout that are sure to make anyone laugh. “Turtles all the way down” is about love, internal struggles, Star Wars fan fiction, and of course tuataras. What more could you ask for in a book?
My rating:
?????/?????
